Patriarchy in the society has been proved sabotaging for Women since centuries. Social evils such as dowry, denial of education and voting rights, and the brutal Sati Pratha have limited females to nurturing kids and restricting their potential to solely serve their husbands and fathers. 21st century brought a mega revolution in upholding the feminine energy at the global level. Dera Sacha Sauda, the power house of philanthropy stood firm on this matter, reviving the ancient ethics of India where females are designated as ‘Devi’ and are worshipped.
Institution has been reflecting the same ethics which made the ancient writers call Lord Hanuman as “Anjani Putra” where Hanuman is the symbol of devotion and strength and Mother Anjani is the steadfast root who gave him strength and grounding. Under the guidance of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, DSS has launched several campaigns for Women Empowerment. DSS has rolled out campaigns addressing most critical issues – Education, Employment, Women safety and Gender equality.
Fighting the well established evil of misogyny in the society, DSS has been actively working on pushing forward the narrative of girl child not being any inferior to the boy child, appealing against female feticide. Followers of Dera have pledged to not abort the girl child. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh ji himself has adopted many girls who were abandoned by their families, many of the adopted individuals have represented the nation across diverse fields, including diplomacy and sports.
Females, especially in rural areas have been given expert vocational training by Dera Volunteers enabling them to achieve economic independence and confidence. These programs include practical skill like tailoring, beautician course, entrepreneurship, empowering them further to challenge societal norms, speak louder against the gender biases and participate actively in community’s social and economic development. Young girls at schools and colleges associated with the institution are taught self defence to counter the increasing crimes against women.
Several female athletes have played combat sports like boxing, judo, karate etc. and made our nation shine at the International stage under the guidance of Guruji, the advocate of the social welfare. Culture of Dera Sacha Sauda pushes forward the idea of females holding the leadership. This is why the progressive concept “Kul ka Crown” i.e.
Crown of the lineage has been introduced. Instead of the groom bringing the bride to their parental home after marriage, the groom joins the bride’s household, carrying forward her family’s legacy, especially in the families with single girl child. Saint MSG constantly guides the society towards feminism and women empowerment through the spiritual gatherings as well as through his social media handles like his Instagram and Youtube. In his movie Hind ka napak ko jawab, he has put forward that the mothers, wives, sisters and daughters are the actual heavenly maidens.
This also brings the attention to the fact the males have to feel the importance of feminine energy in their lives and should bring forward the well-deserved respect. A healthy society thrives on the feminine energy. Women are the life-givers, who introduce new life into the world. Wives are life partners who share strength and purpose. Daughters carry forward legacy and shape the society from the future.
